For some reason The Quietus referring to Lana Del Rey’s sexuality as “vaguely insane” has me really heated.
I should go to bed.

• Some dude on the bus gave me his number. He wanted mine, but instead I asked for his and told him I’d text. I haven’t; I haven’t decided if I want to open up my life to yet another dude who’s gonna text me a “hey” every other day and expect entertainment. Also he had a beard and a hat and those can hide a multitude of sins.
• One of the sushi guy’s daughters had a birthday so his family came in for dinner and they invited me to drink soju with them and gave me some sushi and kalbi and it was awesome and they’re the Korean family I never had.
• Cute kitchen boy said something mean about my teeth (my family is english, gosh) and even though it wasn’t at all mean-spirited, it brought up some insecurities. I tried to play it off but started smiling without showing my teeth so one of the sushi guys and the short dude spent the rest of the night trying to get me to really smile.
• I told Kisung (I should just start using everyone’s names) I needed to ask him a really serious question but I fucked with him and didn’t tell him right away and when I finally did I was all, “So……… what do you do on Friday nights?” and he was all “Uhhhhh…..”
• Basically I laid it on thick and am waiting for him to get back to me about whether he can cover a Friday for me so my friends and I can go see Sleigh Bells.
• I really hope he can do it.
• We ended up talking about girls (ok) and alcohol and his family and it was interesting. Cute kitchen boy joined us and teased him for not drinking and I was like, “You can fuck right off.”
• Fuck, I like Mondays.
• Moving soon.
• 22 soon.
• Toby stuff.
Anti-femme culture (and feminists aren’t immune to this) thinks the effort put into femme presentation is a waste of time and energy – or, at the very least, time and energy that could have been spent doing something more important. Anti-femme culture thinks ‘pretty’ probably means ‘dumb’ even when struggling against a culture obsessed with an impossibly narrow beauty standard. Anti-femme culture thinks you can’t do math AND do your nails.
We are humans! We contain multitudes! I do not think it is a problem that teenaged girls are interested in experimenting with presentation via fashion; I think it’s ridiculous and misogynist that they are ONLY encouraged to do that – and that boys don’t have the same freedom of expression.
